Yahoo : Shutting down?

A few days back, I was startled to see a mail in my Yahoo inbox marked with the official 'Y!' symbol. The mail went on to say that Y! Briefcase, a little known yahoo service was done with its days.

Is Yahoo is dying?

Reports confirm that Yahoo, actually, is in a loss of $303 billion. The fourth quarter closed the books upon Jerry Yang, the CEO and the co-founder of yahoo. "The company definitely suffered a huge loss, in his leadership", said one of the employees at Yahoo, referring to the previous CEO. Yahoo's stock price's hit the rock bottom of an 8 dollars, when compared with it's highest prices of $29 to $32 this year. Moreover, the company is to fire 1,500 employees working under it, the cause of which being the recent economic depression.

If Yahoo continues it's regime in such a degrading manner, it will soon have to be sold to Microsoft, offering "a lot more that it's worth", to buy Yahoo.

Safari 4 : A copy of Google Chrome?

Apple seems to have released a new version of it's well known browser, Safari 4. It's claimed to be the best browser in the world. Is that true? Is Safari really as good as Apple advertises?

No.


Safari is just a modified version of Google Chrome. There's nothing new.

• The Tabbing feature in Safari is similar to that of Chrome's... Too similar. "You can move the tab, pull it out, pop it in..." Well, guess what? You could do that in Chrome too.
• What about the "Top Sites" feature? "Open a new tab and there you can see the most visited websites in small, elegant windows" hehe Heard of Chrome's "Most Visited" ?
• And the menu bar? Yea you guessed correct. Copied from Chrome. Safari - Shrunk into only 2 buttons, just like Chrome.
• The Bookmarks menu - Right out of Chrome.
• Oh... Even the "Find" bar's the same too.
